IBEROEKA Innovation Project Idea / Search for partners

If a company, centre or university has a preliminary idea for a project it can fill out a one page form, briefly explaining the proposed theme. This “Project idea / Search for a partner” form will be sent to the IBEROEKA Management Organisation within that country, which in turn will send it to the Secretariat General to be circulated amongst all of the Ibero-American countries. The aim is to try and find new partners with whom to create an IBEROEKA Project profile.

IBEROEKA Innovation Projects

To propose a project you just need to complete a simple document in form format which contains all the information about an IBEROEKA Innovation Project that we need. This should be completed by the leading party within the project with the agreement of the other partners. This document will be presented to the IBEROEKA Management Organisations for approval and subsequently to the Secretariat General for circulation and to obtain the IBEROEKA Innovation Project certification.

The profile to be completed is a simple document consisting of twelve parts:

  • Title and acronym for the project.
  • Description of the project.
  • Information about the participants.
  • Cost estimate. Budget.
  • Planned timescales.
  • Financial contribution from each participant.
  • Relationship with other technological cooperation programmes.
  • Planned technological developments.
  • Market in which the results of the project will be used.
  • Agreement between the participants.
  • Distribution of the project tasks amongst the participantss.
  • Search for other possible participants.

What are the requirements for a Project to be accepted?

IBEROEKA is a flexible organisation and keeps paperwork to a minimum. The requirements for participating projects are:

  • That two or more bodies from different member countries within the Programme participate and that at least one of these is a company.
  • The project is designed to create innovation in a technological area.
  • The result must be a product, process or service close to the market.
  • The applications must be for civil purposes only.
  • There is an open technological exchange between the participants.
  • The project is developed in the participating countries and for their benefit.
  • The participants are sufficiently qualified, both technically and organisationally.
  • Participants have the appropriate financial means to complete the project and exploit the results.

What are the advantages of participating in a Project?

  • Sharing the knowledge and technology of the other partners.
  • The possibility of using the scientific-technological resources of the entire CYTED Programme.
  • The opening of new markets.
  • Access to advantageous financing options in each of the countries.
  • Taking advantage of the prestige of the IBEROEKA Innovation Projects within the framework of international collaboration.

What financing will the Projects receive?

An agreement exists between the participating countries to allow the financing to be decentralised and as a result each country finances its own companies.

Once a proposal has been certified as an IBEROEKA Project, each partner will request financial help for its participation in the project from its own country.

The type of help provided and the financial mechanisms and schemes offered will be those used internally within each country for the promotion of scientific research and technological development.

The CYTED Programme will also be involved in financing some of the coordination costs incurred during the completion of the joint profile or the final proposal for the inclusion of new partners in the IBEROEKA projects.
